eSleeper

There are so many things to say about why I love the eSleeper I couldn't even construct it into a sensible and well worded article. Bullet points, you are my only hope...

For a start it involves cats. I hate to live up to that old internet cliche but add cats to anything and it instantly becomes cooler. You could take a photo of an accountant at work on his desk with a cat sat next to him and it'd make it interesting.

Secondly, it's creator Samuel Cox hollowed out an eMac to make it. Mac users like to hark on about how they cater for the "creative" type. Guess what Mac lovers? Sam just schooled you in creativity!

Thirdly, it's more than meets the eye. Inside the shell of the eMac is an Arduino Ethernet hooked up to an IR sensor and some LEDs. When the cat enters the box it activates mood lighting (Awww), and when the cat leaves an automated tweet is posted to the eSleeper Twitter account with the time spent in bed and a random but amusing message.

And finally, it's innovative. Although it's just one man's DIY experiment for the moment, imagine the possibilities of marketing the eSleeper? It's no secret that most pet owners are a bit mental so I can see the appeal. In fact, you never know, Apple might end up buying the idea! Say hello to the iCat...
